The garden is progressing nicely. I’m seeing vegetable growth on all plants. I’ll be picking green beans today along with several banana peppers!

I found about 15 Black Swallowtail Caterpillars in the garden. Luckily, they were still small in size, so not too much damage was done. Other than that, the garden is looking good!

Day 67, a trend is forming…my root vegetables don’t seem to be producing anything but a bunch of leaves…argh!!

I found cabbage worms on my cauliflower and kohlrobi plants, so I need to keep an eye out for more. A square of radishes and beets don’t seem to be growing (just roots), so I pulled them and planted new seeds for both along with some red, white, and yellow onions (in place of a square of green onions.)

The watermelon radishes aren’t growing, so I pulled them…found slugs on the lettuce today as well, so added some sand around the plants to see if it helps.

One of the squash plants wilted and died within a day or two. On closer inspection, the larvae of either a Cucumber Beetle or Squash Vine Borer was behind it. I’m hoping there aren’t more!

Everything is looking good…still haven’t planted the pole beans, but we pulled our first harvest! Lettuce, radishes, and green onions.

Day 30…a few more squares of radishes, beets, and carrots planted. Replanted the 8-ball squash…still no basil

Day 23 of my garden journal…peppers, tomatoes, and eggplant are in the ground.

Day 12 of my garden journal. The lettuce made it through the freezing temps and snow. Radishes are starting to surface.
